Craig Steele

Director, Digital Skills Education

READ BIOGRAPHY:

Craig Steele is an educator, published author and creative technologist, who helps people develop digital skills in a fun and creative environment. Craig designs and delivers interactive training that brings digital skills to life, for people of all ages and abilities. He has have delivered digital skills workshops to thousands of people across Scotland and internationally. Last year Craig was named as part of the BIMA 100, as one of the most influential people in the UK digital industry. He was previously in the "Holyrood Tech 100" list for 2017 and a finalist in the Digital Leader of the Year awards.

Emma Walker

Country Manager - Scotland

READ BIOGRAPHY:

Emma's background is predominantly in HR, working as an HR Professional across a variety of sectors.  Diversity and inclusion have been part of Emma's remit in many of these roles, but Emma's real passion is promoting neurodiversity within organisations. With an autistic son and a qualification in understanding autism, Emma was delighted to secure a role as Scotland Manager for auticon - an international IT Consultancy who exclusively employ autistic consultants.

Emma is passionate about promoting the strengths and abilities of neurodiverse individuals and highlighting how these strengths can be of benefit to organisations. Emma has recently joined the Board of Trustees for SWAN - The Scottish Woman's Autistic Network and hopes to bring her knowledge and understanding of neurodiversity to the Talent 4.0 Forum.

Elizabeth Hollinger

head of Analytics and BI for Aggreko

Elizabeth is the Head of Analytics and BI for Aggreko, and leads a team of data engineers, data scientists, analysts and developers who use data to drive value across their global business. She has spent the last 12 years working in a variety of industries, helping them use their data to solve business problems. She has a passion for helping people understand the value of data and loves to communicate complex ideas in a simple way to enable effective insight-driven decision making.

 

Robin Huggins

Director of Academy & Client Services at MBN

READ BIOGRAPHY:

As Director of Academy & Client Services at MBN Solutions, Rob has spent his career at the sharp end of Talent Acquisition practice for the Data & Technology sectors. Working as Delivery Partner for The Data Lab's MSc. Placement Programme, Rob designed and deployed the highly successful Employability framework that has seen over 200 aspirant Data practitioners placed into Scottish organisations over the last 3 years. In addition to sitting on The University of Glasgow's School of Maths & Stats Industrial Advisory Board and acting as Talent Lead for DMA Scotland, Rob was recently recognised by Data IQ as one of their most influential Data and Analytics practitioners in UK organisations.

Michael Young

CEO of MBN Solutions

As CEO of MBN Solutions, Michael leads the strategic direction of the unique recruitment and people solutions organisation he founded 12 years ago. A serial collaborator and community builder, Michael is the driving force behind events such as Scotchain, Scotland Data Science & Technology and Blockchain Scotland Meet-Up Group.

In addition to establishing MBN as one of the UK’s leading Data focussed Talent businesses, Michael has acted as advisor and confidante to a number of start-ups, charities and third-sector organisations and has provided support to many government agencies seeking to understand the increasingly complex landscape of Data Talent Acquisition.

Dr Martin Goodfellow

Teaching, Recruitment and Outreach Associate

READ BIOGRAPHY:

Dr Martin Goodfellow is a Teaching, Recruitment and Outreach Associate in the Computer and Information Sciences department at the University of Strathclyde. He teaches cyber security, networking and object orientated programming and establishes and manages articulation agreements with international partner universities.

He also manages outreach activities with schools and other universities. Outwith the university he has developed and delivered educational computer science content and workshops for organisations worldwide, including Google, Oracle, CoderDojo Scotland, Glasgow Life, Makeblock and the BBC. He has also written several books on Python programming for children.

 

Rasiba Norin

BI Business Analyst at Aggreko

READ BIOGRAPHY

Rasiba recently transitioned from a successful career as an experienced Recruiter within the Technology and Data space, to a role as a Business Intelligence Business Analyst, supporting key business stakeholders in their BI requests across a Global organisation.

Having partnered with multiple organisations to recruit Technology and Data professionals over a number of years, Rasiba has a thorough understanding of the challenges faced by organisations in attracting a diverse workforce. She has provided guidance on how recruitment processes, interviews and assessments can be modified to suit the strengths and abilities of neurodiverse individuals, tackle subconscious barriers and be inclusive of all genders, ethnicities, socio-economic and cultural backgrounds. 

Having recently joined a Global organisation in a Technology role, Rasiba is passionate to understand how supportive cultures can be created from within to provide all individuals with a platform for entry, promotion and success within the Technology and Data space, in order to bridge the gap between today's workforce and truly diverse work teams. 

Toni Scullion

Founder of dressCode and Computing Science teacher

READ BIOGRAPHY

Toni is extremely passionate about teaching Computing Science, and encouraging more pupils into the subject, particularly more girls. Toni was a panel speaker for Tackling the Technology Gender Gap Together 2017, finalist for Scottish Women in Technology secondary teacher of the year 2017, awarded Cyber Security teacher of the year 2017 and Champion of Champions. Keynote speaker at Edutech conference Glasgow 2018, talking about addressing the gender gap in the classroom. 2018 SWIT Secondary Teacher of the Year.

Toni is also the founder of the charity dressCode. This is a non-profit charity that she created with the aim of closing the gender gap in Computing Science. Toni also plans to launch a National Computing Science campaign for Scotland, with the aim to help support Computing Science teachers and inspire as many pupils as possible to study Computing Science.

Damien Anderson

PhD Student University of Strathclyde

READ BIOGRAPHY

After overcoming many obstacles, Damien is working towards a future that he would like to see through his PhD studies. His work is focused on the development of new AI techniques in video games which may give us a glimpse into what the future of AI holds.
